This morning in Isaiah I was reminded once again that God, my God, the God who desires a personal relationship with me, is greater than all. He is Creator, Designer, Judge, Father...the list goes on, and yet He wants me. Sometimes that concept is just so hard to grasp and understand, or even believe at times.
Well, I went to the state fair on Friday, and walked around for a while. Mostly just looking at the animals and some of the displays and crafting vendors that were there. It was a lot of fun, basically just to get out of my apartment for a few hours and walk around outside. I know that going for a walk down the road does the same but this had somewhat of a purpose. :)
Yesterday, I had a friend from church over for the afternoon. I did something I hadn't done before and that was, I cooked a roast!!!! I put it in my crockpot with potatoes and carrots. It was soooo good!!! But then again, I love roast and hadn't had it in a long time :)
Tomorrow I go back to work, but I don't really mind that much because I had a really great weekend. My office is moving next week too, so I am excited about that!!!!
If you think of it, please pray for my Grandma Emery, she is having back surgery on the 27th. Just pray that it would go well, and that she would have a quick and relatively painless recovery!
That's all that I have for now I suppose :)
What to do...

Important Reminder
I was just reminded as I was doing my devotions today about some of the different and varying attributes of God. I was reading in Isaiah 40:6-11.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
There are so many things to get from this. I don't always know where to start. My devotional booklet asked the question "What joyful message is to be proclaimed?" At first I thought that it could be that God is in control and that He will never fade like the grass or leave us. You have to look at the broader more important message though, and that is that God is coming back. He will rule and reign over the whole earth. That is the message that needs to be joyously proclaimed. As the song says, "God's not dead, He is surely alive, and He is coming again"
On to my day :)
My day was a little crazy today. On Wednesdays I meet with a personal trainer. It can be a little rough as I am not in the best physical shape, but I am attempting to rectify that. Today, he had me lifting some weights, and we were doing sets of ten and then if I could get to 15 he would increase the weight. After, the first few I caught on, and when it came time to push to 15 I said that I didn't think that I wanted to go to 15 cuz then he would make it harder. Thinking about it now I think that we do that with God sometimes. We get comfortable and don't want to reach out to do more because then God will challenge us or Satan will fight us. We need to build our spiritual muscles, so that we will have the strength to fight when Satan attacks and so that we can accept the challenges given us and prove ourselves faithful with the help of the Holy Spirit.
well that is all I have for tonight!
Goodnight, and God bless!

Well, here I am...
...and I don't really know what I want out of this blog, but I am going to try to write nearly everyday. Mostly it will probably be just my opinions on key topics, or incidents that happen to me or others.
Like the other day I started to wonder if this is all there is. I mean, I know that there is a God and that one day I will die and go to heaven to be with Him for eternity that is not what I am questioning. But, here it is, for my life am I going to be in the same general place doing basically the same thing in five years? I really am looking for something that is exciting and different every day. Not to get up every morning and dread having to go to work. I really hate that. I want to be able to really love what I do, and right now I honestly don't!
I have like little blips of excitement in my life. Like last weekend I went down to Kansas and visited my friend Heather. We had so much fun, reconnecting and hanging out. We went to the fair and I got to show one of her goats! (something I had never done in my entire life) We went the rodeo and had a blast, but now I am back home and back to the same ol', same ol' routine/schedule.
Sorry to have spent this entire first post complaining, but I think I feel a little better now that I have gotten it all out :) I don't know, what will happen from here on out, but probably about the same -- sharing my thoughts, feelings, and experiences with all who care to read :)

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
This has been a great encouragement to me knowing and remembering that God is always there and that He WAS, and IS, and ALWAYS WILL BE!
